Nice was going to be our first experience of France outside of Paris and so we were very excited to see what lay ahead. What better way to start than from the South of France? Our 1.30 hour flight from Naples was delayed by 2.30 hours due to a technical fault which gave us some time to catch our breaths, think back to what we had just experienced in Italy and dream about our next leg of the journey.

... their luggage on Easy Jet and were hit with nearly €300 baggage. OMG can you believe it? Yes they had 4 big bags but that would have been double their ticket each. Really a warning to remember to do this with the cheap airlines as you are stuck once you get to the airport with your luggage. We paid an extra €10 each for our two bags at the time of booking!

If opulence plays in Cannes its birth place and permanent residence is in Monaco. We use Nice as our base to head to Monte Carlo because unless your Jay Z and Beyonce you cant really book a hotel here. The 25 minute train ride hugged the coast line of the French Riviera before plunging into a dark tunnel that served as the station for Monaco. Its almost as if the tunnel was specifically built to hide the trains arrival from the residents ...

... upon arrival, we learned that they were far more serious than Casino Lac Leamy, and since we did not all have ID on us, we were rejected at the door. FAIL! All dressed up with nowhere to go, we headed back to our hotel and had a fun night at the beach bar in our hotel, where our server filled us in on the Monaco "word on the street". Ask us for stories, but what an interesting society! Talk of the royal wedding was big, and almost every storefront had a framed picture ...
