... so we drank big smoothies. They were so delicious and cold. We took a bus to Bucaramanga. We arrived at our hostel and decided that we were going to take a nine hour bus ride to Santa Marta in the morning. It is a beach and it's super hot there. I wasn't excited because the bus was leaving at 4 am

... the directions were terrible and despite asking numerous people we couldnt find our way

With no option but to fill the day somehow we ended up in Giron, 9km away....Another colonial town.

A few beers, icecreams and bus journies later we were back in Bucaramanga and heading for the terminal to begin the last leg of not only our Colombian trip but our South American trip.....

We moved on from Taganga by taking a taxi to the Santa Marta bus terminal to catch a bus (11h, $32.50ea) to Bucaramanga that should have taken 9 hours, but of course, took 11 hours. We tried to find somewhere to stop on the way for a night to break up the trip, but there are only small towns with little draw.
