    Day 40

... As part of the deal we rented a jeep wrangler and snorkelling gear. The travel agent guy who was selling us the package just never stopped talking. He must have told us the same thing about 10 times. It was like sitting beside Alan Sutton when he's locked. He just wore the ear off us. Walked the beach for a while and then went back to the room to relax. Went out to the same clubs as the night before and had another great ...

... eat and head back to the hostel for some wifi, change and plan tomorrow before dinner. After a few hours we head back out for some food, an easy walk along 5th avenue before retreating. This time, we notice the air con is being cranked so we see the light of a Dede t night sleep ahead of us. Only to have two of the workers or long term guests in the bathroom painting and talking excessively loud. Oh well, pretty tired so we all crashed out pretty ...

... Offered us drinks as soon as we got there. Bryce and I both ordered water. The front desk gave us two pink carnations. They smelled pretty! We headed to room 116 and settled in. I was starving so we ordered room service. Quite a lot of it. Hey it was free! We ordered a 1/2 portion of caprese salad, 1/4 chicken with fries and vegetables, a 1/2 portion of chicken fajitas, a shrimp cocktail and strawberry cheesecake for dessert. It was all very good except the cheesecake which ...

... a hot, humid and hectic day.

The ruins of Tulum offered us a chance to go back in time to a simple village located on a cliff edge. The buildings included houses, temples, and places of worship, and the views across the bays of nesting turtles were like picture on a postcard. A truly beautiful slice of history! However, against our better judgment we were duped into adding an extra snorkeling excursion on Paradise Beach to our ticket, where we were promised to ...

... jacuzzis, drinks and tunes all while we watched the sun go down from our amazing rooftop view. It was all too surreal really. With new haircuts in toe and our last night together sitting in the back of ours minds, we all went out for one last meal together. We'd had so much fun but as per usual it had all gone too quickly. We knew the following day would be sad as it would be goodbye to Jess, but on the upside we were leaving for Cuba and I couldn't be more ...
