      ... Sandra lit a candle for Lorraine's dad. I learnt a new word in was on a plaque in the church......apparently there was a hurricane in Burano some years ago and this was a memorial to those that died.       ... what he was doing. The Doges Palace was big and very well decorated on the outside. We found a lot of shops that sold glass blowing stuff I bought a little charm thing. Mum and Dad celebrated their 27th Wedding Anniversary today, they went out for a very long walk in the evening. Nice place to have a celebration. We all had lots of fun today and we might even go to the glass blowing place tomorrow. ...

      ... us his cross fit skills and tried to box jump onto it, which didn't end well. Lets just say he ended up on his back and thankfully his backpack softened the landing. It was definitely time to call it a night and get some sleep. The next morning we got ready slowly to check out, and then caught the ferry back to the train terminal.       ... the day.

      We headed north out of Budapest into Slovakia via what is referred to as the 'Danube'Bend'. We got a bit lost because the river folds back on itself. Consequently, we were never too sure of what side of the river we were on! Eventually a ferry ride settled the issue. Head north, now, and we shouldn't see any more water.

      We couldn't help but be impressed by Slovakia and what appeared to be the attitude of its people. Slovakia is a poor country. ...

      ... next time. We continued through Fira and along the countryside to a very large winery , Santo. In much of the island vineyards are planted in both small ploys and larger vineyards. Apparently their only agricultural products here are wine and tomatoes. The winery has a huge visitor centre and tastings area. They appear to be best known for their sweet dessert wine made from grapes that have been partially dried in the sun. We continued to a much flatter shoreline and a ...
