Back in the 13th to 17th centuries, a Hanseatic League was formed between the commercial and defensive merchant guilds and their towns along the coast of Northern Europe. These towns had their own legal system and even their own armies and Lübeck was the capital. Every year they put on a festival in a different city and I was lucky enough to be here for it this year!

... to the hotel. So we went back. There were fossils. There were display cabinets that contained fake or stuffed animals. What surprised us was when the grass snake in one cabinet moved. There were also turtles. The best live display was the bees. You had a view of the honey comb and the queen was marked.
