Scott found wifi on the terrace upstairs to watch the football, wifi in the jungle aye!? I was so tired I managed to fall asleep even with the heavy music playing! I was just so happy to finally have arrived at the destination and everyone is so friendly shouting welcome to bukit lawang when we walked passed ...

... yes, we should add, they will leave early if you pay for the empty seats. We joined forces with a Canadian chap, 2 Czech ladies and a couple of lads from Oz to force an early departure.  One Spanish couple we met the next day had waited 9 hours for the minibus to fill up as they were on a tight budget. We decided to stay in a guesthouse, with a cost of £6 per night.  A warm blanket and hot shower, it was ideal, and it also gave ...

... inside Java's spectacular Tengger Caldera national park. The trek up to the rim of the crater was only 30mins, but consisted of walking uphill on volcanic ash and also approx. 100 steep steps, hence was very tiring. Once at the top, the views surrounding us were breathtaking. It was daylight at this point and given we had been travelling during the night, we had not noticed what was surrounding us and how amazing it all was. The crater was artistically ...
