... from Garry’s class to tell me I’m an awesome snowboarder (sometimes praise doesn’t have to be sincere J).
Once down to Angertal, we found Mark, he’d already traded his gear in (cough) wimp (couth)! He very kindly agreed to come up the beginners slope to watch me and my new skills.
I then had a run with some of the ski instructors: they were learning the snowboard so the pace was lovely. I enjoyed that very much, got ...
Great news: today is the day we are going to go off piste with Hannis! Hannis is the original snowboarder. Completely mad. Amazingly cool. He was itching to get away, the powder is better in the morning. "Waaaahhhhooooo!" was his warcry after being on the powder for just 10 seconds. He didn't stop hollering all morning. ... time with a few people. And a bar. Hurrah, the Slovenian bar staff from fest alm are drinking in here tonight, I seem to recall them being great fun: memory was accurate, they are great conversation. I got distracted for a couple of hours first however talking to a Bosnian chap. Deeply interesting fellow doing his best to describe to me the intricacies of Balkan ethnic groups. He predicted another Balkan conflict within the next ...
