We have spent two days in Pamplona transitioning from pilgrim to tourist. We observed a festival the first night with a parade of drumming, dancing, torches, people dressed as bulls and many other costumes. We walked the route of the "running of the bulls". ... part of a group of 11 sharing an apartment in downtown Pamplona, ideally located directly above the path of the Encierro (where the bulls run) with a balcony overlooking Dead Man's Corner. This was also central to all drinking, socializing, and parade activities so the surprising addition of sound proof doors was most welcome since Matt and I shared a murphy bed that we pulled out from the kitchen wall (which is how 11 people fit into 1 apartment).

... 30. I was dressed in all white with a red scarf tied around my wrist - tradition says you're not supposed to put it around your neck until the festival officially starts at noon.
