Ventspils is a fairly popular tourist spot for the locals and is also a major port for oil from Russia. Around the city is a large amount of parks with many novely oversided statues. Apart from relaxing on the beach and wandering the different parks I didn't do too much here.

Day Trip to Europe's Widest Waterfall
The plan for the day was to catch a bus to town, then another one to take us 56km to Koldiga, to visit the town but more importantly, to see that which is reputed to be Europe's widest waterfall. Challenging trip to Ventspils

We set off at 08:45 in light SE winds (forecast was for SW) and with low cloud and dark, threatening skies behind us.
