    Well here we are in Portugal, at Coimbra, which used to be the old capitol. It took a five hour trip from Salamanca in an air conditioned mini-van to get here, arriving about 3.00pm.     After breakfast I take a walk down to see the archway we had had to negotiate yesterday in the car. I also climb up on to the city wall. No handrails or safety barriers. Its great. We check out. The road out of the walled village isn't as bad as the way in. The main difficulty is getting the throngs of tourists to get out of the way so we can get past.
