Had a wonderful afternoon exploring Castillo de Sant Barbara (hugecastle/fort at the top of hill in Alicante) and listening to some of the 3 Reyes (3 Kings/Wisemen) festivities from the top of the castle. Tonight the 3 Kings (Wisemen) arrive! There were huge celebrations here in Spain. We could hear a marching band and see signs of a parade and huge crowds from the top of the castle. Later we saw on TV lots of celebrations all over Spain with kings and beautifully dressed women ...
... that day. We met Ian and Jo again, had a great walk with the dogs eventually to the beach and a light refreshment, beer..! All good here, we have been out today, Monday, had a coffee, bought some fresh bread and Giles got his haircut. Beautiful weather late teens and YES the shorts are back ...
... and we always seem to come away with smiles on our faces.
Our hiking group has also rewarded us with many wonderful walks and friendships as well as some much needed exercise.
Our trip to Paris was truly fantastic and deserves it's own entry so I will try to add that next.
I'll also try to be more faithful in writing when we return to Sweden...the Christmas season there is so beautiful and I'd love to share it with you, so stay tuned!
Sailing down the coast of Spain en route to Tangiers. It is a beautiful day, the sun is shining and the Med is like a mill pond. We had breakfast and then off to play deck quoits and shuffleboard. George and partner Lorna won the quoits and I was in the other semi. Both of us in different semis in the shuffleboard but both lost. George was also a losing semi finalist in the afternoon quoits and in the afternoon shuffleboard. In between we had a ...
