After a few hours sailing we arrive at the island of Mljet . We harbour and enter the National park . There are two main lakes and a small island, st Mary's , at one end where a 12th century church and monastery sit. We walk beside the first lake to a small bridge where we catch a boat on the second lake to take us to the island. The monastery is under renovation . we have a few swims and ...

We woke to the sound of the engines of the boat starting up and begin to pull out of Gruz Harbour en route to Mljet Island. He turns down a steeply inclined sidestreet, "just down here?"

    Dead end.

    "Come on!"

He punches into reverse and ...

... Anyway, we had dinner at Porto Camara, run by three friends who Tea and Steve say argue with each other all the time but are delightful. Our host was Ivica and his friend Piero cooked the beautiful fresh fish on the wood oven. Before dinner we taught Steve and Tea how to play the card game 'Peasant’, which was lots of fun. Then after dinner it was off to bed…
