... wineries are about a two-hour drive away from Dubrovnik, so you'd have to be pretty serious about wine in order to make that trek, when you could easily instead spend the day in the paradise that is Dubrovnik's Old Town. That Friday night I repeated the dose of mussels and this time coupled with a mind-blowing squid ink risotto, a bottle of white wine, and raki as a digestive (fruit liquor). We woke to the sound of the engines of the boat starting up and begin to pull out of Gruz Harbour en route to Mljet Island. Feeling very excited to be officially sailing Croatia we jumped out of bed and stood on the deck as we passed by the Croatian coastline. Breakfast was a much needed spread of sliced meats, bread and cereals to soak up the literal bucket-load of cocktails consumed the night before. Slowly the rest of the crew rose from their cabins and we ...
