After Carcassonne we headed away to find a restaurant that Patrick and Jerome had raved about. Best Bean Cassoulet in the world! Took a while but we found it, and Eric the chef, who informed us that they were fully booked and couldn't seat us today. Never mind.
Headed in a roughly southwest direction looking for back roads to Andorra. Ended up staying Foix the night, Stuffed from some hard out riding, but happy.
The grotto was beautiful. The rock walls were freezing to the touch. But there was a sense of tranquility as we sat and prayed. Cherry and I walked the mountain to see the Stations of the Cross and drank the Holy Water from the Grotto. There were lots of people waiting to go into the baths but you weren't allowed to watch. The group met at the Harley Davidson sales room on the outskirts of Toulouse. Coffee and croissants provided to set us up for the day ahead. Out of Toulouse south bound on the motorway and then through the Pyrenees on the D929. Stopped for lunch on the French side and then down into the warmer air for our stop at the Monasterio de Boltana.
