    ... culminating with the 1492 expulsion of the Jews from Spain by those godly monarchs, Ferdinand and Isabella!

    We walked the narrow cobblestone lanes, hemmed in by formidable ramparts. Human spirit was confined quite literally. We had intended to go out in the evening for tapas but the weight of travel and history (and our good lunch) depleted our resolve and we faded out early in Girona!

    Hola, update: We've checked out a Spanish Flamenco dinner/ dance show w tapas & sangria, which was ok, nothing to rave about. But this is our last day in Lloret & we bailed on a yacht ride today, too cold, Chris under weather, they managed to watch the AFL game during the day & then we had big night at the Gran Casino!     We have spent 2 wonderful, relaxing days in Tossa de Mar - there are so many narrow cobblestone alleys with shops, bars, restaurants, hotels and hostels. Mainly whitewashed buildings with orange terracotta tiled rooves, but some with planter boxes or pots on their small balconies. Amazingly cars are allowed to drive through many of these streets that are only just wide enough to drive on and look like pedestrian ...

    ... nice souvenirs, that's how the days roll here, going to book a yacht charter and a flamenco/dinner & show for next few days then we gotta find another place - we're out Monday & got 4 nights to go, maybe back to Barcelona, then we start heading home. Check in tomorrow....... adios ...
