... Falls, having recently risen to historic levels following torrential rainfall in June which caused widespread flooding in Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay, the result has been the biggest recorded water flow ever over the falls. Needless to say, to witness this first hand was nothing short of breathtaking.

On the morning of Ari's birthday, we slept late and enjoyed breakfast accompanied by our last cups of Brazilian coffee for a while, which we will miss! ...

It was so hard to say no to a waiter as every meat we tasted was sensational (yes we are putting on weight from all the food and drink we are consuming).

The next day we left Iguacu and took a 1 hour 40 minute flight and landed in the incredible city of

RIO DE JANEIRO.

... 1 Japanese with 2 massive cameras (love it) and me) and we walk through the forest before taking the boat that will bring us “under” the falls. During the walk we were suppose to see a lot of animals but the only one who was so “polite” to show-up, at least for a second, was a “tapir” (tapiro - funny enough for the Italians). Bigger than what I thought but more ugly too. Grande Tapir, one of us.

... buffet restaurant. After you had helped yourself to salad and various other random dishes such as lasagne and beef stroganoff?? The waiters come to your table and cut pieces of meat directly onto your plate. There is even a bell to ring if you have run out, though the chance of that happening was near on impossible! Our favourites were the cinnamon covered roasted pineapple and the chocolate biscuit dessert mmm. As for the meat... we are already missing the Argentinan ...

... lovely walk down - falls on the right, and all sorts of wildlife around you. We make many stops for photos. Seeing just one waterfall is always a nice thing to do but here, there were hundreds.
Eventually we make it down. Wow! The sound of the water is something. So powerful. We go up a tower to look out over the falls. Some huge spiders living on the caging underneath our feet. Time to go back down and walk across the bridge. We look at the people walking ...
