    Day 180: Au revoir Nice, Hola Barcelona!

    ... back to the 16th century, and by the looks of it, not much has changed. It has small curved streets with cobblestones and traditional shops. There are the most delicious bakeries too. Paul and I couldn't resist a custard slice. They are just so yummy here! It is so bustling with people everywhere, even in the rain. Because it is small, much of it is sheltered from the rain, so we were able to have a look around and collect some supplies ...

    ... and nunnery which is now just a church and all that remains are the external walls. We walked through the quirky, hilly streets, explored their 'private' beaches where you have to pay to get on the beach and even more to hire a sun-bed or use the change rooms! Something we couldn't get our heads around! Apparently all the public beaches are further out of town and aren't very nice at all.

    ... so outgoing. It was so nice to meet some local people, and was quite a Serendipitous experience for us. Tonight was the Captain's Cocktail Party, but our travel wardrobe doesn't stretch to Cocktail Party gear, so we just ate at the buffet, and had an early night. We needed it after our big walk.     ... were at least 10 street bands that we counted all performing and trying to out do each other. People were singing, drinking and dancing in the streets - the vibe was just infectious and you could tell that this was going to be a long night! Or maybe the bus loads of Police gave that away!

    Anyway, these party animals made it back to the apartment and were in bed by about 10.30pm.......exhausted!

    ... and body perpendicular to the face. Definitely a weird feeling to get used to..especially when you can feel the rope stretch under the tension. Most people in the group made it down fairly easily and a few were ******** themselves. Personally, I was in the middle. We made it down to the first landmark where there was a natural pool from the waterfall above. We slid down the next segment and repelled the rest.
