    ... and nunnery which is now just a church and all that remains are the external walls. We walked through the quirky, hilly streets, explored their 'private' beaches where you have to pay to get on the beach and even more to hire a sun-bed or use the change rooms! Something we couldn't get our heads around! Apparently all the public beaches are further out of town and aren't very nice at all.

    ... a delightful dinner of crepe pizzas, another example of the Italian influence here. Clare has a lovely vegetable version, mine is mushroom, bacon, onion and cream, wrapped as a parcel. Delicious, followed by a peach sorbet with cider and cream for dessert; amazing! There are some scales in our unit...will I or wont I? We have seen a lot of cats in this village too, often in pairs, and all very friendly... not like cats at home! Nighttime is silent. Daytime ...

    ... and the owner is rude. The kitchen closes at 10pm, the computer closes at 10pm, and the hangout area (the ONLY hangout area) to meet others is closed at 10pm. So it was tough to meet anyone. But the people I was sharing a room with are nice and we just chatted about Holland and the USA for a while.

    Today, I uploaded pictures, shopped at Carrefour and explored. It has been too hot for me today, so I am going to go to the beach now and try ...

    ... over the years, I was unimpressed with the information he shared. There was only a few general historical comments, and while he told us how to get the bus card, he did not explain the bus, tram, or train details. Perhaps for Europeans no explanation is needed, but for those of us who live in the Motor City where GM bought up all the trams in the fifties and in effect ran public transport into the ground, figuring out the labyrinth of routes ...
