    ... of St George and up the bell tower. There were 146 rickety steps. Tiffany assured me that they looked fairly new and would have been checked before allowing tourists on them. However the ticket lady said that they were the original steps from several hundred years ago. Luckily I found that out when we were back at the bottom!
    The day was completed with a beautiful sunset and a walk around the sea listening to music including a choir group singing acapela at a restaurant.

    We could not have picked a more perfect spot for our week of relaxation and break from all the sightseeing than Piran. On the coast of Slovenia and with the Adriatic ocean pretty much lapping at our door step we felt relaxed from the minute we arrived.
