    I was a little peeved when I discovered that the next leg would be by coach as there is a train service to Udine. We disembark at Villach, walk less than 100 metres for once, and then board the coach. Shortly after leaving the town we start heading up into the mountains.     There is a difference in the two towns. Piran seems to be the home of the boaties while Portoroz has the beach frontage with the regimented rows of deck chairs and beach umbrellas. In fact, both centres have a very long history that predates the Roman Empire.

    ... Bobby well he has just turned into a fish. We had lots of fun at the pool and obviously needed refreshment so Mr T and I partook in a cocktail don't you know!     ... Today was too hot . The beach and the pool cool you down so we went to the pool. I went down the slide loads with mum.
