    Simon who was the father of the Australian family gave us a tip that the 3hr private lesson was the same price as 2 kids at ski school for 4 hours so we booked up a lesson and headed up the valley to Iniwate. Adam was a real cool instructor. He was an engineer in the Yukon but during the winter not much happens so he agrees unpaid leave with his company and does a 3 month ski season somewhere ...

    Breakfast was a fine affair and Thomas was in heaven when we realized that the hotel had one bottle of HP sauce! We got down to Hakuba and left the kids with the ski school. Thomas was hilarious, saying he had done it before and could go up to the top of the mountain! Isabel was quieter but confident.

    ... after getting lost in the railway station (a recurring theme of our holiday!) we got there. It was great fun to walk across with people coming at you from all sides.

    It was getting late so we grabbed a quick McDonalds, jumped in a taxi and off we went. We got back to the hotel and said our goodbyes and were off for the bullet train. The Park Hyatt was definitely one of the best hotels we’ll ever stay in and the kids ...
