So, a Tuesday afternoon in Mérida. Dead tired, but we´re glad to have two hours strolling around the city with Paul Dobson, having twenty things pointed out to us with historical and recent political context explained, before we get to mooch out on our own to find food and then sleep. The young men were carrying primitive blunderbuss and firing at controlled intervals. It was all well organised but the paramedics had a job bandaging their hands which were getting burnt - they didn´t seem to bothered.

On our second day in Los Llanos alter breakfast we set off to the river, this time to do some Piranha fishing. Unfortunately we both didn´t have much luck. The hooks seemed quite big and generally the piranha took the bait (fat) off the hook. We felt constant little tugs of the line and may have not been quick enough when whipping it back to the bank which was the required technique.
