... over at the start of our hike seemed to take the air out of our sails; and the steeper parts of the trail had my chest burning. It was a crisp, clear morning for it though, probably 15 degrees and rising to 20ish by midday, which is warm at 3300m.

... previous. We grab a coffee and some pastries to warm the cockles and go to explore the lake and countryside; not for long though, Spanish lessons beckon. We linger long enough to take some photos and learn about the most common plant at this altitude; one that takes 400 years to reach maturity!

... being played in the bar with me, Waoter (from Belgium) and Maike belting out the words amongst a group of bemused Venezuelans. The low lights were three of us having our jackets nicked while we were dancing, and the overall result of the night being one night too many: thus since Tuesday I've had something between a sore throat and a fever than only today has begun to reduce it's grip.
