... but this is beside the point. After about 5 hours of walking we decided to negotiate the timetable at an italian bus stop and I got us a bus with a stop two blocks from where we are staying at the Mercure. Tonight I think we might find our way back to the little pizza restaurant in the old city. There is a pizza on the menu that has octopus. Had a lovely dinner in one of the side streets near the centre accompanied by a litre jug of the local red!. Fantastic food that this region is famous for. Discovered on the way home that you should not drink & program the sat nav. Or specifically Miss Powell shouldn't. Ended up driving 25 min in the opposite direction out into the countryside somewhere! On the up side we did however get to drive through ...

... early. The next day was the big one and it’s just as well I write about it some other time because the public address speakers announce that we are pulling into Bologna Central. Earlier this morning I took the 7.10 Regional (slower train, no reserved seating and cheaper) to Ancona from SBT to connect to the 8.25 am Regional for Bologna. The current time is 11.42 am, which gives me about 40 minutes before departure to my final destination of the day, the Allepy of the West- ...
