Last night we had another huge storm that raged for several hours keeping us awake. Everything was still and dripping this morning and the lake looked beautiful. We had decided to travel up the East side of Lake Garda to see some of the old quaint towns dotted along the way. The first one was Lazise and it was surrounded by a wall with Castle turrets and the Castle at ...

... love their grappa. Even have grapperias - bars that specialize in grappa. Beautiful views of the mountains. Very proud of the "Alpinis" - mountain men. There are several grappa museums. We liked the Poli one. Best was a 4 year old aged in oak made from blend of cab sab and merlot. Cool to see the history of the Poli family. Had more gelato today cause it was stinkin hot. I leaked constantly. More cold beer. Tomorrow, to Venice for 3 ...
