    Off to Switzerland. Headed up and over the Grand St Bernards Pass. Loved the drive up into the mountains. Finally got to the top and there was a lake full of ice that the pass drove alongside.     It was packing day. I shoo-ed Nick and kids out and stuffed clothes into bags. It took a long time. Nick and the kids headed out to another smaller chateau called Vevey, clutching my camera. If you give your kids access to the camera, you must expect some strange results. I got back a number of close-ups of a mermaid statue's bottom. Clearly this was the highlight of the trip.

    Overnight, a storm blew in. It howled around the chalet, raging up and down the hillside. It blew open the windows in the kids' bedroom and rained in on their duvet. They slept through it, but Mum didn't. She managed to close their window and stop them getting any wetter, but the duvet was sodden.
