... It was an impressive buildings that had been added to over the centuries and was a real hotch potch of styles. That afternoon, Mal wasn't feeling the best so I went solo. We went for a lovely country drive through Burgundy with green hills, vineyards, villages and the odd small chateau here and there. The destination was Chateau ...

... had already had 6 delicious samples of Burgundy white and red wines. We made our way through some tasting rooms in Pommard and Volnay, and had a terrific lunch in Volnay. The German has worked really well this trip, but struggling a little with French. I had a rabbit terrine that was stunning, R had fried goats cheese salad. She said it was brilliant. We both then had duck in raspberry sauce. I thought it might be too sweet, but the sauce was quite savoury and really amazing. ...

Significant rain was in the forecast as we left Beaune for Burgundian Deviatio 2, heading back on the Voie de Vigne cycling route the way we had come. What to do?

We had noticed a campground, La Grappe D'Or, up on the hill in the middle of the vineyards, just above Meursault and went to investigate. Beautiful tent and RV sites but we opted for a cabine and were very glad we made that decision. It was ...
