A six hour drive today, we left at 7am and arrived at 2pm - lots of traffic, just did they highway but spent around 65 Euro in tolls. Speed limit most of they way was 130.

We arrived outside our apartment and it looked like a derelict building with a big green door, soon our host Christelle arrived and we were immediately under her charm.

The past couple of weeks have been good times in France.

Joni and I quickly settled into our digs at the Chateau de la Velle. It did not take any time at all until we felt "at home" in our gite. ... for the night (unless he made it out the sides). In the morning we’d have to fess up to the hosts, hang our heads in shame and have them deal with it. I pictured Thierry's uncle chasing the bat out from behind the armoire as the family looked on, Thierry's mother nervous and worried.

But our visitor was crafty and had no intention of staying trapped through the night. He found his way out the sides of the armoire, and at 3:00 am, I was once ...

Significant rain was in the forecast as we left Beaune for Burgundian Deviatio 2, heading back on the Voie de Vigne cycling route the way we had come. What to do?

We had noticed a campground, La Grappe D'Or, up on the hill in the middle of the vineyards, just above Meursault and went to investigate. Beautiful tent and RV sites but we opted for a cabine and were very glad we made that decision. It was ...
