      ... to Cesky Krumlov was somewhat exciting because Austria was experiencing its first snow of the season and the roads were messy and slippery. Most of the drive was not on the highway, so we were able to enjoy watching the pastoral countryside being covered in a blanket of white. There is no direct train service from Vienna to Cesky Krumlov, so these shuttle services have sprung up to serve the tourist need.

      ... answered 4 she told us the maximum was 3 or 320kg. We then all had to confess our weight which we worked out was not 320kg!! The female voice then told us she would have to call the "Otis" lift mechanic to come and fix the problem. This would not have been so bad in a normal size lift but it was a bit squashy and was getting very hot as there was no circulation of air. It was a very interesting 45 MINUTES!! before we got out.       Docked in Linz (Austria) 8am but not staying long, back on bus headed for Cesky Krumlov (Czech Republic) 8.15am, ship also sailing to Passau (Germany).
      Cesky Krumlov is heritage listed Medieval town being built around 14th century. During the communist era it fell into disrepair but since the revolution in 1989 it has been restored. It all feels far too touristy. We toured the Castle's courtyard and gardens taking in ...

      ... are booked into the old Jesuit monastery which is now a hotel. A little quirky but steeped in history. Rooms are a lot smaller but clean and adequate.

      Off to the town to explore! We went on a tour of the town which included the palace (inside and out) and various shops, churches etc. This town is gorgeous, lots of little places to take photos and the town is exactly what you would imagine/hope a little European town to be.
