There was much excitement on our approach. The kids would be hanging out with other kids (Thomas & Daisy) and we would be catching up with old friends. It's true what they say about old gloves, or old shoes in this case, they always make for a great fit.

... due to being at sea. The iPad is good for info on where we are going. The other cruises we have been on have been much more informative of independent exploration of a port and its area. Also it is sometimes possible to book private tours a lot cheaper than the ship offers. Managed 1/2hr on our deck then back up to the sunset bar to sail away at 5pm. It's a very very busy life on board ship!!! Just as well there ...

The city not only encloses the entire harbour but takes up the better part of the Gulf of Ajaccio, which is the largest gulf in the world.
Over 65000 population over the entire area. This city is the birthplace of Napoleon in 1769 who became the French Emperor in 1804 and spread Revolution through Europe and in 1811 made Ajaccio the capital in Corsica.

... Another quaint town, and very commercialised with lots and lots of cafe's, restaurants and shops, boutiques. There was a huge Ferry as big almost as a cruise ship pulled in from Monaco ( we think) carrying passengers and their cars to the Island for their holiday break.
