Pilgrims would keep their eyes fixed on the abbey's spire crowned by their protector, St. Michael to eventually reach their spiritual goal. I will attempt to give a visual tour of the abbey with the photos I post. It is immense and much more beautiful in person. Tomorrow we travel by train to The Loire ...

The sun came out, my shirt came off and I settled in for the afternoon.

Tonight I am at Maison Normandie – a modest hotel a block from the beach. I have a bathroom (with a sit down tub, as small as when I was in Rome) and a good size bed. No Air Con, but that’s okay tonight cuz it’s cool. Tomorrow I will hit the beach early, and take off back to Paris mid afternoon.

Tonight I had incredible fresh oysters ...
