... It is in a beautiful old building in the prime shopping area of the city center. At midday, I took the train to Aosta. It was a preview of the coming days since it traveled northward through the Aosta Valley where I will begin my southward journey tomorrow. It looks very little like Google Earth. Hmmmm. Hope that I am not walking cliff side since the mountains are very steep here. In addition it is supposed to rain on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. At least ...

Just a few photos from the Ski holiday so far - won't bore you all with tales of daring red runs, lost snow chains (thankfully not this year, so far) or off piste escapades, but the attached photos are a way of sharing our holiday with family and friends ... And we were off piste in some trees which probably helped my enjoyment. The snow was unreal, I spent most of my day nose first in drifts up to my thighs. In fact I spent most of the day face first in the snow, but that doesn't matter (nor hurt so much) in lovely fresh snow. I just ...

Worst 1st days snowboarding - ever!

... top of the black La Face run into Val and couldn't understand the fuss as I cruised along, not seeing another soul at the top. Then I came to a ledge, and looked down a mogul field full of people either edging down or having given in and removed their ski's. I made it down, but by this point my thighs were shaking and I made a slow trip back over to Tignes. That evening we headed to Alpaca bar and had marmalade mojito's in jam jars. Which taste better than they sound. ...
