However, many of these plans are slow moving and have yet to come to fruition, leaving empty construction sites with half built apartment complexes and department stores. I assume this is partially due to the Moroccan mentality about work and priorities (which I do not view as a bad thing at all, just interesting!) and half due to the global economic situation which surely has reduced and in many cases halted funding. We were ushered inside in a wave of chaos (common theme) and told by the owner, a tiny, precious old Moroccan man to go into the kitchen where without warning a spoonful of some unknown type of meat was pushed into our mouths!
