Over 400km later, we arrived at our next overnight stop in La Ciotat. Was a newly built apartment over looking the port. We unpacked, jumped back in the car and grabbed some supplies from the Supermarket. Some clothes washing was on the agenda as well as something for dinner. ... our way through massive bowls of mussels, the local Cassis wine (white) and finished with a shared crepe (sucre & citron). By this stage we had abandoned all thoughts of the abbey on the way home and spent the rest of the afternoon wandering the laneways and harbour. Very late in the peace, we decided to drive to the western headland to see the Calanque (very narrow inlet in the cliffs). Tom couldn't handle the road closures for street works ...

No alarm this time…Gary got up about 8.30am I lazed in bed until about 9ish :) Was nice to fully relax as we had no real plans today.

After sorting some admin and getting ready at a leisurely pace, we headed off to Domain Saint Andre Figuiere (a vineyard that Tom had arranged for us to go and visist). Turned out to be absolutely tremendous!!!

We stopped off in Oingt for breakfast, we ate in what would have to be one of the most beautiful car parks in the world – this was another recommendation from our friend Vincent, he said it was "the most beautiful village in France", how could we not go?? After being there myself I would have to agree with Vincent, the drive there and the little village ...
