... greeted us with a picture perfect day and a stunning beach scene with mountains at both ends of the beach and yet another jam packed beach in between. It is very calm with just very slight waves coming through and a bunch of floating platforms with diving boards and slides on them about 80m off shore. They kids are going to love that. Our arrival also marked the start of their week long fiesta celebrations which we are not getting quite well drilled ...

... watching the French enjoy their summer holidays.
Our tour guide Vincent led us to the harbour and to get some Basque Macarons which are completely different from the coloured ones but delicious. The harbour square area was a delight with the water clean and grey mullet swimming, artistes painting and selling their works. The town is beautiful.
Back to the car and off to Spain and San Sebastian which we had heard so much about.

... out pintxos (tapas in Basque) San Sebastian style - have one pintxo, one drink at a bar, then move onto another bar for another pintxo and another drink; strolling along the seawall that takes you from the harbour, around a bay, and alongside a river; and checking out some of its architecture (we actually got locked into one of its cathedrals!).

We also discovered some very nice Basque food ...

... what things should cost. Window shopping confirmed that I wouldn't be shopping here - most outfits displayed ran close to 1000 Euros and up.
