... the toilets and the showers and they were definitely the worst so far - no toilet seats or toilet roll! After dinner and beer we decided to check out the massive dune behind the campsite. It was 140 steps up a ladder in the sand and then about the same again with no ladder. It was worth it when we got to the top though. Amazing views and we made plans to go up again to watch the sunset and have a beach BBQ another day.

... roads and scenery got more interesting, too. We passed by a very pleasant lake shore that was chock-a-block with campgrounds on our way to Biscarosse. We didn't see the ocean despite being very close, but that really didn't matter--we'd be there again at the end of the day. There was some very pleasant rolling terrain and nice roads, and a few unpleasant drivers honking at us to get off the nice roads and onto the adjacent bike paths, which we did not do.
