    ... out of the oven to give to the soldiers before they crossed the ocean.

    We then headed off to Normandy and hit all of the sites from D-Day, starting with Pegasus bridge and ending with Pointe du Hoc, the US Rangers' involvement in D-Day. It was all very moving and so awesome to see in person. The German guns were still in the bunkers (full of holes and rusted) and the craters everywhere were awesome.

    Today we decided to head off to see what is know as the pink granite coast. It is called that due to the pink granite stones which, during sunset, glow a mysterious shade of pink.     ... on a HA organised tour. A free shuttle service into town, maps, and stalls on the quay were all provided. We wandered down the rue Siam, through a local Sunday market, across the Recouvrance drawbridge and ate moulles and frites with stout (Dave) and cider(Judy) for lunch at the quay.
