... take us to El Panchan. The drivers are not too friendly and I wasn’t in the mood to chit chat due to the long ride, they did however say that Hinesh’s backpack was beautiful. We get to the entrance of El Panchan and walk down the dirt road to try and find Margarita and Ed’s cabaņas. El Panchan is a little village set in the jungle. There is a serenity here that is nice, if you can zone out the insects around you. The humidity is a lot higher here ...

We sent ourselves to bed early to listen to the zoo that lay outside our window knowing the following day our journey through Mexico was yet to take another exciting ...

... to keep the speed down!

It was now dusk as we walked the few blocks to the hotel and checked in. It felt like a “rough” town. So far this is the worst hotel but hey it is only for 2 short nights. Some others commented on the worst condition that what I had so I was lucky in some ways.

... family sorting a guide for us, 20 people trying to sell us a poncho (even though we were both wearing jackets at this stage) and we were off!! The ruins- were amazing!! These ones were Mayan and some dated to 600BC. They had aqueducts in place to transfer water around, toilets (that actually flushed water in and out) and air conditioning vents that aligned amazingly (pretty clever really!). We got to climb around some of the temples, while in amazing jungle setting for a couple ...
