... warm and humid .The walk was lovely and we were the only people ( silly enough?) to walk the uphill trip to the ruins. As we walked up and up numerous vans and even big full sized tour busses passed us putting paid to the plan to get there before everyone else haha. ... br> The site of Palenque started at 226 BC and its reign ended in 799 AD. A lot of rain forest covered over the ruins until it was later discovered and excavated. They think that only 10% is uncovered at the moment. It is an average sized site that is bigger than Monte Alban, but smaller than Tikal or Chichen Itza. The site is definitely a work in progress.
