... but no show. A nice young Japanese guy asked us if we were okay, so Rod phoned the hotel and he spoke with them. Turns out it was a miscommunication and our pick up was 11:55 and not as soon as our train arrived. The young people are great at helping as they want to practice their English. Woke early and caught a taxi to Ueno station. JR Shinkansen to Nagano, then electric train on the Nagano dentetsuline to Yudanaka. Walked up to our accomodation - Shimaya. Mr Yumoto is very helpful. Today was the longest day (both in terms of miles covered and travel time) we had planned for our whole trip. We figured a long travel day earlier in the trip (while we still had energy) would be a little bit easier, while still making sure we fit in all the amazing things we wanted to see during this trip!
