... before a long time before Grenoble.
THEN a spell of “Red Roads” (at least they are red on our map) which was again, exciting driving (you know when you get in a flow and even the hairpins seem to be able to be taken at speed, smoothly, well that was the way it felt)
The pictures say it all, especially the lunchtime stop.
We both agreed that whilst The Lakes are nice, scenery today was better (although not as much water) BUT it didn't rain!
... sure had tastings. Burgundy had lots of Pinot Noirs and some C******nay, and we bought a bottle of each. We headed home, tired and a bit rainy, but we've probably had 2-3 rainy days in the 40 or so days that have passed. We tucked into another French classic beuf bourguignon which we hope wasn't horse, but im pretty sure was beuf (only French people appeared to eat here, and we thought they wouldn't have time to slow cook horse for tourists). Either way, it tasted almost as good as ...
... we wanted to cycle around all of the beautiful wine villages but time is catching up with us now. We will be heading back home at the beginning of July but in the meantime we have the opportunity of another 2-3 weeks work back with Michel near Montpellier. Not much time to recharge the batteries as we start in 6 days time and it’s a 7-8 hour drive, so we’re off to the Auvergne in search of volcanoes!!!

For all it's idiosyncrasies, it's two or three hour lunch breaks, it's high prices - nous adorons le pays. All three of us love it and keep coming back.
