... set off but only got as far as Gigny, about 15k up the Soane river and the shaft bearing played up. And as we all know, every good sailor requires a sturdy shaft bearing. We were stuck, up creek, without a bearing. We managed to secure a tow from the Capitaine of Gigny marina, and returned, tied up along side another boat, back to Pont de Vaux for repairs. After 5 weeks out from the start of our adventure we were still where we started from. Pont de ...

In the cold light of the morning, common sense prevails and we abandon the drive down south idea. We are only travelling another short way down the Saone River to Seurre today but first we walk through Saint Jean de Losne to the supermarket near the marina to buy food for tonight. ... the garage, but it all adds fun to the trip.
While sitting outside in the evening we had a beautiful coloured moth flying around, his bright orange body seemed to glow in the dark, I did manage to get a picture when he settled on the light.

We're moving off today to our campsite in Crest, it's only a 150 mile ride so we hope to be there early afternoon.

Hopefully it will be a pleasant ride and then the adventure really begins.
