We overtook some but were overtaken by others. Really enjoyable ride and not too hard at all. It gave us both great encouragement and i definitely want to attempt the even harder climb of the col de Galibier. At the top in the village Alpe D'Huez, in fact almost next door to the shop where we rented the bikes, we found ...

... that’s for sure. The night before we met Em and Chontel (NZ and Aus) travelling together, who quickly insisted on insuring that we wear wrist braces otherwise we would regret it – in a nice way of course. Now my immediete response was ‘they’re over-rated..’ and this converstaion went on for some time that night. Ironically the next morning Em could not fit her braces over her wrists and opted to leave them at home, to the ...
