    ... colours of the trees and the brilliant green of the grass was amazing.

    E failed to get any lunch as we discovered that 11:11 is a bank holiday in France and everywhere was closed! So we arrived at the hotel at 5:00 pm and were starving! We checked in and the owner kindly provided us with pate and bread and a glass of red....perfect!

    But it’s all an experience, doing car repairs en français. I’m amazed really, that at half past four on a Friday afternoon a) anyone is up for doing any work, and b) they can whip the wheel off, and the tyre, and fix a puncture, all within about 15 minutes.

    ... out of the marina the wind had dropped off so much we would have had to motor all the way to Les Sables, probably about 6 hours so instead we had a gentle sail to La Rochelle and moored up in the town marina until the lock opened for us to go into Basin Chalutier.What was lovely to see as we entered Old La Rochelle as you sail through the 2 towers in La Rochelle there were lots children out having lessons in dinghies and on wind surfers, this was ...
