Beach bum life! Today we spent the entire day on the beach. We rented lounge chairs and umbrellas and relaxed. It was a refreshing day. Jayden, the youngest of the group, went crazy between the beach and pool. It was hard to pull him away to get ready for dinner. It was also Michelle's birthday! The family went out to dinner and ice cream to celebrate. After a few of us went out for birthday drinks. We kept it relatively chill since we have an early morning for a day trip to ...

... beach massage. A lovely relaxing setting and the Thai man was very good and worked all those sore back and neck muscles from this tough sailing. Cheeky drinks on board then we headed into town to meet Steve and Ann for dinner in the old town - several bottle of wine later and a few rums we head home at 2am. Fun night but not the best move with an early start in the morning as we head for ...

Apparently, there's been a sandstorm in the Sahara Desert, that's blown a big dust and sand cloud north across the Mediterranean Sea ...

... what sort of people do you find in a gym? Fit people. Young people. People who can walk up this mountain a heck of a lot faster than I can. And some of this lot must have put a shot of rocket fuel in their breakfast coffee this morning ... From the start, I'm left trailing well behind, despite the fact that I'm covering the ground quicker than usual. Most of the group I only see when they've stopped for a short breather - and ...

    Collado de los Civiles

... Just before the path branches away for the final climb to the Collado de los Civiles, there's an excellent sheltered spot for an early (first) lunch break, before we tackle the stiff climb upwards to the Col. Having completed this, it's time for the second lunch break! Despite the clouds, the views are excellent - Maroma behind us and Lucero just to our left are both covered, but in front of us, we can still manage to see Cerro Machos, Cadena and Cisne, plus ...
