    ... largely of finding good bars and restaurants. Now Karlovac turns out to being doing well for bars and coffee shops but it's citizens obviously choose to eat at home. We eventually found that the school of catering had it's own restaurant open to the public. Having witnessed the high standard of waiting and hotel staff in Croatia we thought we were in for a treat.     ... light these coals, or perhaps they were sick of all the smoke we were creating, and gave us a few very efficient fire starter things. We have no idea what they were made of but they were triangular shaped and sort of chalky in texture but brown in colour. Not sure but it certainly worked and we still have hot coals 6 hours laters, ;-)

    After breakfast, a nicely brewed coffee by Paul and a little clean up we spent the afternoon in the river!

    ... or Czech. Prices are very similar to back home actually for a lot of things. A little cheaper, like one or two dollars. But for other things like tuna and this tomato and eggplant dip, it's so cheap!

    So anyway we had a little expedition to the supermarket and decided that we wouldn't buy anything to eat until we reached Karlovac. Little did we know, or should I say remember, that Sunday trading hours are cut short. We so should have known...

    ... that the forest in which we were camping was being logged! The sound of chainsaws at 6.30am is a little startling when one is camped in a forest, believe me. I don't think I have ever packed up so quickly! Paul was pretty relaxed during this whole affair. They won't log near us. As soon as they see the tent they will stop, he kept saying. But I can see them! And they are coming closer! So he then got up. They were only a couple of guys with chainsaws, not like a commercial ...
