... different sights that we would not have on our own. So we walked our feet off!!!! Spice bazars, palaces, ferry ride, mosques, and churches. . . our favourite being a little 'museum', originally a church, later turned into a mosque and now under restoration as they uncover all the beautiful Christian tile mosaics of bible stories hidden underneath layers of plaster from its mosque era. It was not one of the main tourist ...

No surprises. The wind was still blowing strongly from the north and the only difference between today and yesterday was that it felt colder! Looking at the Finnish weather site, it showed a temperature of 8C – yes eight degrees and get this, due to wind chill the 'feels like' temperature was put at, wait for it, (remember this is June…) … 2C!

Needless to say we were less than keen on doing very much so ...

... round the corner from us at the top of the inlet that constitutes the harbour here. It was really cold in the strong wind but we still saw doughty Finns determined to make the most of things, swaddled in many layers to keep warm. I was staggered at the price of the diesel, €1.689 a litre. That’s something like 6.30 a gallon! I remember when it was 2/6 a gallon….. After lunch, we took the bikes into ...
