        ... the latter with a small cabin and requisite boat tied up. The pontoon for visitors was small and the water shallow, so much so that we could only use the first bit of it but no matter, we were the only boat. There were some others on another pontoon so we weren’t the only people here.

        It was a bright, sunny day but as always, the wind was blowing from the north, albeit at the time we left our comfortable and inexpensive berth (€10/day) in Jakobstad, it was more of a gentle breeze, about 10 knots. Moreover, the air felt a teensy bit warmer, so it bode well for a pleasant trip under engine planned for today.         No surprises. The wind was still blowing strongly from the north and the only difference between today and yesterday was that it felt colder! Looking at the Finnish weather site, it showed a temperature of 8C – yes eight degrees and get this, due to wind chill the 'feels like' temperature was put at, wait for it, (remember this is June…) … 2C!

        Needless to say we were less than keen on doing very much so ...
