    ... on my side (he likes to hug the line on my side) my reply was it's ok we still have a couple of inches. We made it and found the receptionist at the camp spoke very good English which meant we were sorted quickly, complete with return bus tickets to Venice. By 2pm we were on the bus headed for Venice, it only took about 15mins.     ... thousands of tourists and even more pigeons! However today we were also "welcomed" by something unwelcome, yet increasingly present on the square, a foot of water!!! The whole square was almost completely covered by the sea and all of the visitors had to make their way around the place via temporary bridges. It was quite a thing to see. Thousands of people crammed on these little raised platforms, moving in single file, through a maze of paths. We were quite glad to have seen this though, ...

    ... we have booked. Nadzha came up with an idea that since we are just killing time till we have to leave. We may as well ask to leave earlier and save money.     ... churches. San Marco is impressive, although it can also be very crowded. We especially enjoyed visiting at night. It was fun watching the vendors launch whirly birds into the sky that would light up as they floated back down. The little kids had a great time trying to catch them.
