... so about 10pm we walked out on the lake to get away from the lights of the hotel...Sean was a few steps in front when he suddenly stopped and backtracked as his foot had almost gone through the ice ...then did say the lake may not be quite frozen over but it seemed ok to rank amateurs like us! Having picked a safer route around the edge we found a dark spot....but to no avail...the lights were not on for us this ...
... the toboggan run to see how much air they could get! Thankfully no injuries to report.
we finished the day with a relax in the jacuzzi with the 3 girls ( Josh not keen on it...too much other fun to be had with the other boys)! It has turned the ends of Elissa's hair green though which is less than ideal!
Hope you all had a great Christmas and Boxing Day, count down to new year now!
So Christmas Day in Finland was a bit of a fizzer although we did get to speak with some of our gorgeous family so that was the highlight of yesterday, however I have now fulfilled a life long dream of having a White Christmas which it definitely was! After lunch of soup and soup we decided to take Paddington out for a bit of a walk around and get some happy snaps, it was a bit warmer yesterday ...
... the forest.
we played in the snow, had snow wrestles, made snow angels and tried to throw snow balls...the snow doesn't pack together enough to make a ball...just ends up being a shower of snow!
After dinner Al, Sar and I went for a walk through the forest at night....it is actually well lit from various light posts and flood lights along the toboggan run...but when you get away from the lights it is black on white.
Domna's house - lunch at Vartilus border crossing - Korkana Husky Farm 41km
The Husky Farm is a nice sauna spot for farewell. Huskys are calmer than expected. In particuliar the last day showed me I couldn't navigate such sik tour on my own. In part we crossed forest without a trail. It became cold that day and the old snow went ruthlessly sharp. I collected quite some blue marks that day.
