Arriving in Hirtshals we had to walk about 2km from the train station to the ferry terminal, a little bit of a trudge with a big backpack and the wind of the North Sea blowing in your face, but we made it. Once on board our ship, MS Stavangerfjord we found our little cabin before heading off to explore the ship. Hmmm not that much to see or do really, time for cards before going to the back of the ship to wave good bye to Denmark. Feeling a bit peckish we then headed to ...

I knew this was going to be a huge day for driving, certainly didn't help myself with the Belgian beers the previous night but managed to get away while it was still morning.

Not the most exciting day, drove up to Liege, then Cologne, Hamburg and then the length of Denmark in order to get my booked ferry on Sunday morning from the northernmost tip of Denmark. ...

We left early in the morning around 4.00 am to make sure we arrived on time in Hirtshals to get on our boat to Bergen. Our trip went extremely well from Belgium over the Netherlands into
Germany and then on to Danmark to the most northern point to take the 9.30 pm boat. We hardly had any traffic on the road except for a small traffic jam just after the Elbe ...

... the towering mountains. It is supposedly where Walt Disney drew inspiration for his famous castle.

Following the tourist department’s "Romantic Road", we headed through lots of small Bavarian towns, typical German postcard style – a couple of the highlights being Rothenburg ob der Tauber and Dinkelsbuhl. We overnighted in Nordligen, where we did as the Bavarians do and visited a ...

We are beginning to sense that the weather gods are not with us. Change of plan at the beginning of the week back fired and the place that had the most sun in Denmark is currently having some rain. ;-)

Another wet drive from Struer to Frederickshavn and a ferry ride to Lęsų. We chose the quiet cabin, and along with one set of people talking loudly ...
