The Liver Birds
Train to Liverpool wasn't until just after 11 so gave us time to tidy up in case Z comes home to London early. Not that we’d made a mess, of course ;)
Tubed up to Euston and waited in the Virgin First Class Lounge for a while. I think if we’d wanted to there was free grog to be had but we just had juice and made use of the free …
Chester
... sluices were opened and closed in the correct sequence.
After that had a meal at the Queen Victoria which is a very old pub, and then a walk around the shops in the old town. The shops are at ground level and also on an upper level. Ellesmere
Back down the motorway on Thursday to Ellesmere Port where the Waterways museum is. I guess you have to like boats, especially narrow boats, to enjoy a day out here. Just like yeaterday the weather was kind n the morning, but by 3.30 it was getting dark and cold.
still, we had a good look around the museum and spent about three hours there. Lots of things to see and in summer there are boat trips up the canal.
A good day out.

A clean day out
... and was well worth the visit. It has a museum with the history of the village and the factory, a church built especially for the workers, a pub and the Lever Gallery which was built in memory of his wife. It is packed with rare and priceless objects and has three of the four complete Wedgewood fireplaces in the world.
Pictures are on the way.

We have been to the Trent and Mersey before, it starts in the Nottingham area and we walked along it at Shardlow near Derby. We have now walked along both ends of the canal as Anderton is very near the end where it joins the Mersey.
