Quite at home being a best western. Large room & kettle. Large dining room with an independent meal of our choice was great

Nice hotel within walking distance of the main station. Room was nice. Service was good. If you're using the bus to get around Salzburg the hotel is between stops about 300m in either direction. If you're going to Mirabelplatz you might as well walk the whole way since it's the next stop after boarding the bus.

Awake at 0600 dressed, breakfast & left at 0830 for our morning trip to Salzburg. And sunshine as we leave Innsbruck. As we leave onto motorway there is quite a blockage on the oncoming side ( fortunately ) trucks ++ probably due to a religious holiday tomorrow. Trucks are not permitted on highway on weekends or public holidays. We arrived in …

Much of todays ride is through pristine Austrian countryside with picture perfect scenery. I even found my self singing "The `hills are alive with the sound of music. With songs they have herd for a thousand years". Unfortunately …

We've been going pretty hard for the past week and a half and I think the pace is starting to catch up with us. We saw no reason to hurry to Salzburg. As we found out in Heidelberg, Sunday is a day many shops and attractions are closed even in tourist centers. A cold rain was falling as we left < …

... water. The boats on the lake are all electric to preserve the cleanliness and peacefulness of the area. At one point on the trip the guide gets his trumpet out, and plays a tune next to the cliffside called the Echowand, and depending on the weather the notes echo one or two times - all very funky ...

Today was another day where plans fell through, Brendan nearly died and we ended up freezing at a bus stop in the middle of nowhere- but not all was lost.

We decided a trip into the Austrian Alps would be a nice break from the buzz of Salzburg. I suggested the Lammer Geoge, an hour bus ...
