I left Flagstaff after a mere 25 hours, the departing train was a bit late due to a collision with an elk, and now I'm on my way to St. Louis. This leg was particularly eventful because my train had about a dozen Amish making their way back home from three weeks in Tijuana... And no it wasn't for an epic stag party. Apparently Amish sometimes travel to Mexico for medical care and they were on their way back home to New York. Only three more days of train travel for them.

Went to downtown St Louis today first stop was the arch which is just amazing. went up in a tram to the top which was just like a capsule with 5 seats in it. The views from the top were breath taken. Also see a museum about the history of St Louis and the state of Missouri.

... we went to Pappy’s Smokehouse, a famous bbq joint that was featured on the Food Network a couple years before. We had ribs, brisket, pulled pork, beans, sweet potato fries and potato salad. It was very good.
