Landed early, collected our bags, and found our way to the Europecar desk. We picked up our car, an Opel Astra stationwagon, and we were on our way. Europecar is located on the fourth floor of the parking garage. We had to drive down some very steep ramps (scraping the front of the car every time) and around some very sharp corners before we exited …
After a delicious continental buffet breakfast with coffee made to order, we headed out to fully explore Assisi. We started with a tour of the Basilica of St. Francis. Later, we stopped for lunch at a little wine bar. We also visited the churches of Santa Chiara and San Rufino. In the afternoon we had coffee and gelato before walking Alice back to …

Late morning we had tours of St. Francis church ending at his tomb. After we spent some time there we headed to the hotel to check in and get lunch. Italians eat a lot of carbs, which don't fill you up for very long, so by the time we say down to lunch I was starving. I had some ...
