      We arrived in this beautiful place for a 2 night stay. The hotel is just gorgeous. Our room is spacious and very luxe. We have beautiful double french doors that open up onto a window box that overlooks the narrow street. We started our stay with a glass of wine and beer in the hotel bar before heading out for pizza and a bottle of Chianti. Strolling the chilly streets after we headed back to our warm hotel for a well deserved nights ...

      ... down to the end of a board walk and looked out at the water.

      Then we drove to St Malo and it had a medieval city in the city walls and we walked
      around it.

      And then on our way back to the car we stopped by the old prison.

      You had to climb through and over rocks to get there and if the tide was high you had to swim. But we went there at low tide.

      Today we went to old castle walls at St Malo and walked all the way around.

      We passed a prison in the water.

      But when it was low tide you could walk across to it.

      here was a lot of big rocks to be climbed all over.

      We climbed the most biggest and furthest away rock.

      We were able to join an English speaking tour in the Abbey where we found out about the history.
      There is so much because it was built in 900's.

      ... by thick hedges. There are even some red poppies, a field of sunflowers just beginning to bloom, ripening wheat, dairy cows and donkeys. It all flies by and we arrive in Rennes.

      Collecting the car is the usual procedure, the girl who speaks "just a little English" certainly has enough to get us by. We collect our little VW Polo, stow our bags and Jonathan settles in to the left hand drivers' seat and we are away.
