... we had a great coastal walk, in search of la Vierge sur le rocher. We stopped at a café for hot drinks and directions. In addition to the directions, the owners offered us crêpes to share-we got to try their caramel, sugar, nutella and chocolate crêpes. Sweet! :) We had dinner on the way back to the hotel. We're doing great, and creating new friendships with our travel companions, a group from St. Louis, Missouri, and one from Colorado. Good ...

Soft rain as we finished dinner. Hope for a quiet night. Tomorrow I ...

... pool for kids, lots of animals spouting water and that type of thing so the girls had a ball, especially the twins. They didn't even need to wear floaties since the water is so shallow and they were just happy playing around together. The downside of being in such a large campsite that is popular with French, Brits and Spanish is that it has 'entertainment' on in the evening which although not incredibly loud can definitely be heard from our ...

... so popular product. It actually goes back to the Spanish Inquisition, when Jews who fled Spain set up shop here to continue their trade. By 1870 there were about 130 chocolatiers in this small town, 11 of which remain today. It was this presence that solidified Bayonne's legendary status as the chocolate capital of France. It should be noted that Bayonne is also famous for its prime cured ham, (which accompanied the egg on my pizza and was ...
