... lunch, right outside my bungalow.

An afternoon horseback riding trip with Bruno and Hector is a real treat. No other tourists, so it is quiet and we get to see a lot more. The Brazilian horses are a bit smaller than what we are used to in the U.S. In these parts of Brazil there are a lot of Brahmin cattle ranches and Gauchos (cowboys).

On our ride we see Coatis, a Jaboru stork in its nest, Brown Capuchin monkeys, an Olive Whipsnake, ...

It was all I thought it would be though. With the clouds it was somewhat surreal.

From there we did some tours of Rio's downtown ...

Beach and markets

A travel blog entry by leemclennan on Nov 06, 2014

Overcast today - was going to go for a swim regardless but there was a cool breeze so decided against it. Walked down Leblon beach and watched the surfers for a while and just sat and looked out to sea for ages. Quite tranquil. The forecast is better for tomorrow. Afternoon: went to a shopping mall and a market. In the evening a bunch of us drank beers ...
