      When I left off, Daniel and his son, Fabiano, had just arrived at my hostel. Eliseo and I went with them to ride in a cable car over a favela, but, of course, there had been men with guns the day before so the military shut down the favela for the day.       ... to go to Lapa as it was Saturday night. I had some Caiparinhas and had a walk round the streets. After a few hours it was time to go home but couldn't get a cab as they kept turning me down. Was where I staying that dangerous!
